UCL Training
Monks Hall Archaeology Field School
Monks Hall is a a medieval manor built on a silt island in the Lincolnshire Fens. The manor was owned by the Abbeys of Peterborough and Swineshead from as early as the 10th century and remains a working farm. Last summer’s finds ranged from the 10th to the 19th century. Now the farm hosts our field school led by highly experienced professional archaeologists, with decades of expertise collaborating with universities and commercial enterprises. Our curriculum has been carefully developed in partnership with universities and heritage organisations to ensure that students acquire the essential skills needed for a successful career in archaeology. In 2024, we provided training to students from leading universities, including UCL, Cambridge, York, Nottingham and Leicester.
