Lincoln Cathedral
Reclaim Heritage recently completed a pioneering project at Lincoln Cathedral, marking the first time the entire site has undergone a complete GPR survey. Initially commissioned to identify buried archaeological features, subsurface voids and map modern infrastructure like heating pipes, our survey has provided a high-resolution “digital slice” through nearly 2,000 years of history. This non-invasive data is now being used to inform the Cathedral’s conservation efforts and deepen our understanding of its early structural evolution.

Lincoln Castle
In May 2025, Reclaim Heritage led a high-resolution Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey across the lawns of Lincoln Castle. Our team successfully mapped the “lost” footprints of the castle’s original gaol and early County Court, which were demolished in the 19th century. Even more significantly, we identified potential Roman urban features over two metres below the surface, providing a rare glimpse into the site’s pre-Norman history.

Lost Manors of Harlaxton
In May 2025, Reclaim Heritage conducted a GPR survey for Harlaxton History Society on their ambitious “Lost Manors of Harlaxton” project. This community-led initiative aims to locate the ancient manor houses that predated the current 19th-century Harlaxton Manor. The data recorded was instrumental in guiding a community excavation in September 2025, where volunteers helped uncover evidence of a Tudor garden and structural remains from the village’s medieval past.
